Maple-Glazed Brussels Sprouts with Bacon and SpecialShit
These salty-and-sweet little babies will make you actually want to eat your vegetables.
Ingredients :
- 1 1/2 lbs Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
- 4 slices thick-cut bacon, chopped
- 2 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 1/2 Tbsp SpecialShit
- 2 Tbsp pure maple syrup (not the fake stuff)
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans (optional, for added crunch)
Preparation:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F.
- In a large skillet, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy. Transfer the bacon to a paper towel-lined plate and set aside. Reserve about 1 tablespoon of bacon grease in the skillet.
- In a large mixing bowl, toss the Brussels sprouts with olive oil, the reserved bacon grease, and SpecialShit seasoning until evenly coated.
- Spread the Brussels sprouts on a baking sheet in a single layer. Roast in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, stirring halfway, until they’re golden and slightly crispy.
- Remove the Brussels sprouts from the oven, drizzle with maple syrup, and sprinkle the cooked bacon over the top. Toss to combine, then roast for an additional 5-7 minutes to let the glaze caramelize.
- Transfer to a serving dish, garnish with chopped pecans if desired, and a dash of black pepper. Serve warm for a sweet and savory side that’s sure to be a Thanksgiving hit!
