Chicken Pot Pie
Who doesn’t love chicken pot pie? It’s flaky, warm, chickeny, buttery- the perfect comfort food. Here’s a simple recipe for how to make it. You can even use leftover turkey or pot roast. We’re not picky!
Ingredients :
- 1 package frozen puff pastry
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1 Tbsp Special Shit
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 3/4 cup milk
- 2 3/4 cups cooked, cut up chicken
- 1 1/2 cups mixed vegetables
Preparation:
- Thaw pastry according to package directions.
- Heat the butter in a large saucepan; add the onion and cook until somewhat tender.
- Add the flour, Special Shit, salt, and pepper, mixing until smooth.
- Slowly add the broth and milk. Cook, stirring constantly, over medium heat until mixture comes to a boil and thickens evenly.
- Stir in chicken and vegetables. Cool slightly. Spoon into baking dish.
- Roll out the puff pastry, cutting slits for steam to escape, and cover the mixture in the baking dish.
- Bake on the lower rack in oven at 375°F until filling is bubbling and crust is puffed and golden brown, about 30-35 minutes.
